Plot *.Plt Files

and other utilities

All these utilities are provided as is. Use them at your own risk!.

Here is a free utility to plot *.plt files.

Please visit our other pages for more great software.

Plotting *.plt files produced from AutoCAD is easy and fast. By plotting directly to a *.plt file your plot times will be faster on your PC. You can then use any PC in the office to do the actual lengthy process of spooling the drawings to the printer!

When you plot or print a *.plt file all the line weight information will be passed to the *.plt file from your chosen plot style at plot time. When you send your *.plt files to people, they only need this free utility to print the drawings, no CAD application is needed,  provided they have a printer or plotter that can handle the size of the page. The only information they need is the page size.

Tip 1: When you create the *plt files in AutoCAD, go to plot, plot device tab, select your printer from the drop down list, click on the properties button, then expand the area that says "graphics", click on True Type Text and set the radio button below to "True Type as graphics". This will make sure you are not missing fonts from your prints.

Tip 2: Load the proper paper size in your printer or plotter

Here is free utility to extrude metal profiles. It is called DDshapes. Simply load the ddshapes.lsp file and type ddshapes at the command line. You can modify this code as needed to work with different profiles if you want.

Here is another free utility to draw your excel spreadsheets in AutoCADŽ. It is called AutosXeduLe. Make sure all your fonts are formatted the same.

This one is for AutoCADŽ 2000-2002

This one is for AutoCADŽ 2004

They are from VBDesign.net

This free utility, called DoctorM, can generate 3D models from from multiple 2D picture files. You may need to upgrade your Directx version to run it.

Here is a zip file that contains 5 different ballooning lisp files that can retrieve xdata information already attached to objects and will still work like a regular ballooning program so that you can put what ever you want in the bubble. It reads your current dimension style for many of it's settings and has several variable that you can change within it. Please see the readme.txt file within it for more information.

Special thanks to Owen Wengerd for the original free open source program and Perry Leets for making the modifications to work with xdata. Perry can be reached at his email address contained within the header of each file.

Balloons

This is a free application to generate generic G-code from 3D polylines. You may need MDT or another additional utility for converting objects to 3D polylines to run it.
