Video Tutorials

Please view the video tutorials below.

It is suggested that you right-click and "Save Target As" to download a copy to your hard drive. This will enable features, such as fast-forwarding and rewinding, that you cannot use if you are viewing the video in real-time. Additionally, the videos require a good download connection. This server is very fast, but may not connect to your computer at the speeds necessary. This may result in choppy playback.

You can see the SmartLister help file here: SmartLister495.zip. It is still not 100% complete, but it has been updated with some information, data and instruction.

Installation and setup

Installing.avi

This video shows you how to install and setup SmartLister, SmartModeling and SmartMachining  correctly.

Quick Start with SmartLister

SmartLister-Quick-Start.avi

This video shows you how SmartLister works and how to use the features. It includes the fundamental basics to understand how it works and what to expect as well as sorting, filtering, printing and exporting. It also goes though the feature recognition module and various other aspects of SmartLister. It will also show you have to stretch an assembly with SmartModeling and add hinge holes with SmartMachining. This video is 74 megabytes in size  and 48 minutes long.

How to use SmartLister's Feature Recognition Utility

FeatureRecognitionOverview.avi

This video shows you a couple of quick exports illustrating the ease of use and instant benefits of true feature recognition technology. From assembly to dxf to AlphaCAM's CAD2CAM, the basic steps are here. We will have a more comprehensive video in the near future. This video is 40 megabytes and 17 minutes long.

How to use SmartModeling

SmartModeling.wmv

This video shows you how to use the different commands in SmartModeling. These include stretching solids, copying holes and enhanced mitering. There is an error in this video where you are told that you cannot stretch left or down. That is incorrect. Simply use -x to stretch left or -z to stretch down. You can see this being done in the SmartLister-Quick-Start.avi above. The video quality is poor and will be replaced soon.

Express video tutorials for learning to use AutoCADŽ from beginning to end with 3D solids..

These videos do not cover all areas of the commands that they cover. These video will cover the basics that you need to know in order to be a proficient 3D solid modeler specifically for the woodworking industry. After watching these videos you will have the foundation needed to understand and work with 3D solids in AutoCADŽ. Once you have the basics down and are no longer confused by the basics, you will then be able to expand on the additional functionally, as necessary, for each command, as your job dictates.

These videos were set up to show you what you can do with AutoCADŽ out of the box. Although we have many utilities in SmartLister that enhance and automate these existing commands, as well as ones that do things AutoCADŽ cannot do out of the box, most of the time they are not mentioned in these videos. You will be able to use your education from these videos anywhere where AutoCADŽ is installed without being dependant on SmartLister. Once you know how to use AutoCADŽ with 3D solids, then you can take advantage of SmartLister to increase your productivity.

The total time of all of these videos put together is less than one hours. Actual video time is 59.41.

By watch less than 1 hour of video you will have a really good idea of what to do and how to go about doing it when it comes to woodworking..

You may download all the videos at one time by right-clicking and "save target as..." here.
